UAE Minister of Industry Dr. Sultan Al Jaber declared that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz has already left the world one billion barrels short of oil supply, calling it the arithmetic of extortion.
He warned that every day the strait remains held hostage, the costs rise for families, farms, factories, and economies worldwide, and issued an unequivocal demand for the immediate and unconditional restoration of freedom of navigation with no conditions and no delay.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the infiltration of Kuwait’s Boubyan Island by IRGC elements to carry out what he called a terrorist plot, expressing regret over the injury of a Kuwaiti armed forces member.
He affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with Kuwait and support for all measures taken by Kuwaiti security services to confront the terrorist acts, commending their vigilance and success in uncovering the plot.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the UAE’s categorical rejection of all forms of terrorism, underscoring the importance of regional and international cooperation to counter such threats, and concluded by reaffirming that Kuwait’s security is an inseparable part of UAE and Gulf Arab security.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned an armed IRGC group that infiltrated Boubyan Island to carry out hostile actions against the country, clashing with Kuwaiti armed forces before being arrested, with one soldier injured in the confrontation.
The ministry demanded Iran immediately and unconditionally halt what it called illegitimate hostile acts threatening regional security and stability, describing the incursion as a blatant violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
Kuwait held Iran fully responsible for the incident, invoked Article 51 of the UN Charter affirming its right to self-defense, and reserved the right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and protect its people.
A Bahraini court handed down a life sentence to a defendant found guilty of seeking out and conspiring with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to carry out hostile acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain and undermine its national interests.
The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated 12 individuals and entities for enabling the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to sell and ship Iranian oil to China.
Treasury said the IRGC relies on front companies in permissive economic jurisdictions to conceal its role in oil sales and funnel revenue to the Iranian regime, which it accused of directing the proceeds toward weapons development, backing terrorist proxies, and funding security forces that suppress Iranian citizens rather than supporting the struggling Iranian people.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi sharply criticized a reported U.S.-backed draft resolution at the UN Security Council concerning the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Washington and its regional allies of attempting to reframe the consequences of what he called military aggression and an illegal siege into a case against Iran – the very country he said has been the target of threats, pressure, and attack.
He argued that freedom of navigation, while a respected legal principle, cannot be applied selectively or detached from the UN Charter, and that no maritime security initiative can credibly ignore the role of the United States and Israel in generating the crisis while claiming neutrality.
Gharibabadi warned that any Security Council text that fails to reference aggression, the naval blockade, threats of force, and Iran’s legitimate right to defend its interests would be flawed, biased, and doomed to failure from the outset.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to condemn the Iranian strikes on the UAE, revealing that Ukrainian expertise is actively contributing to building reliable protection for lives in the country – a notable disclosure suggesting Ukrainian involvement in UAE air defense capabilities.
He said both sides agreed to continue close security cooperation. Zelenskyy also thanked the UAE for its assistance in securing the return of Ukrainian prisoners from Russian captivity, and discussed ongoing and potential joint energy projects, expressing appreciation that agreements between the two countries are being implemented on a reciprocal basis.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the drone attack on a cargo ship operated by a South Korean company in the Strait of Hormuz, which caused a fire onboard with no injuries reported.
The ministry called the attack a grave threat to international navigation security and a dangerous escalation aimed at destabilising critical waterways, describing it as a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
It expressed full solidarity with South Korea and support for all measures to safeguard its vessels and interests, reiterating that using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of economic coercion constitutes piracy and a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to deliver what he called a well-deserved response to any aggression, declaring that mistaken strategies and decisions always lead to mistaken results – a lesson he said the whole world has already learned.
He added that Iran is prepared for all options and that its adversaries will be surprised.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry categorically rejected a CBS News report about the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase, calling it misleading and sensationalised.
Islamabad explained that aircraft from both Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan during the ceasefire period to facilitate the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff associated with the Islamabad Talks, with some remaining temporarily in anticipation of subsequent rounds.
The ministry said the Iranian aircraft parked in Pakistan have no connection to any military contingency or preservation arrangement, and that the Iranian Foreign Minister’s visits to Islamabad were facilitated through existing logistical arrangements tied to the talks process.
Pakistan reaffirmed its role as an impartial and constructive facilitator committed to dialogue, de-escalation, and regional peace.
