Trump says three U.S. destroyers fought through Strait of Hormuz under fire, sinking Iranian boats and downing missiles and drones
President Donald Trump declared that three American guided-missile destroyers successfully transited out of the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian attack, emerging without damage while inflicting significant losses on their attackers.
He said Iranian small boats were sunk, missiles were intercepted, and drones were shot down mid-air.
Trump described Iran’s leadership as lunatics and warned that if Tehran does not sign a deal quickly, the U.S. would strike harder and more violently in the future, adding that Iran would never have the opportunity to use a nuclear weapon.
The three destroyers, he said, have rejoined the naval blockade, which he described as a wall of steel.

Trump and Von der Leyen unite on Iran nuclear red line, as president sets July 4 deadline for EU to deliver on trade deal
President Donald Trump said he had a productive call with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, with both leaders agreeing that Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, and that a regime that kills its own people cannot be trusted with a weapon capable of killing millions.
Trump also used the statement to press the EU on trade, claiming a historic deal was struck in Turnberry, Scotland – the largest ever, he said – under which the EU committed to cutting its tariffs to zero.
He said he has given Brussels until the United States’ 250th birthday, July 4, to deliver on that commitment, warning that failure to do so would result in tariffs immediately jumping to significantly higher levels.
