Keeta Drone has completed one year of operations in Dubai since launching in December 2024, when Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, placed the first order from Rochester Institute of Technology-Dubai (RIT-Dubai).

The company has delivered orders via drone flights across Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) and Nad Al Sheba, providing residents with delivery services.

Since then, the company has expanded with delivery routes across the city. The drones operate in Dubai’s desert conditions, including high winds, sand, and temperatures exceeding 50°C.

Dubai aims to cover 30 per cent of the city with drone delivery services by 2026 and expand this coverage to 70 per cent within the next five years, according to Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA).

Keeta Drone has launched a standalone app, enabling customers to order food from brands such as Halla Shawarma and Baskin-Robbins, with plans to add more in 2026.

“Completing one year of stable operations is a strong validation of both our technology and our commitment to the region. Over the past year, we have worked closely with regulators and partners to secure approvals, rigorously test our systems, and deliver a service customers can trust. Looking ahead, our priority is to scale responsibly, expand our service areas, and continue contributing to smarter, more sustainable urban logistics across the region,” Junwei Yang, General Manager, Keeta Drone said in a statement.

To mark its first anniversary, Keeta Drone rolled out initiatives and hosted pop-ups across the city, featuring games and giveaways.

The company continues to operate in the UAE, supporting Dubai’s smart-city vision and last-mile logistics in the region with urban drone delivery.
