Paris Saint-Germain won the UEFA Champions League for the second time in their history on Friday, defeating Arsenal in the final to add a second European crown to their trophy cabinet.
The Paris club had reached the final after a strong run through the competition, and saw off the English side to claim the title. Arsenal, despite their own ambitions going into the match, finished as runners-up.
The result marks a further consolidation of PSG’s standing in European football. The club won their first Champions League title earlier in their history, and this second success represents their most significant continental achievement since.
