Dubai Land Department has launched an enhanced version of the Ejari service through the DubaiNow app, consolidating tenancy registration, renewal, cancellation, and DEWA security deposit payment into one connected process.

Previously, tenants and landlords needed to complete these steps across separate channels. The upgraded service brings them together within a single digital journey authenticated via UAE PASS, with the Ejari certificate issued immediately after contract approval.

The integration with DEWA is the most practical addition. Customers can now pay their electricity and water security deposit directly within the Ejari flow, activating utility services for the property without a separate transaction.

Mohammed Ali Al Badwawi, CEO of the Real Estate Registration Sector at DLD, said the update was part of a broader effort to simplify procedures: “This approach accelerates service delivery, enhances transparency and provides a secure and interactive digital experience that meets the expectations of Dubai’s community.”

The enhancement is framed by DLD as part of Dubai Government’s ‘Services 360’ policy, which pushes agencies to consolidate related services around a single customer journey rather than managing them independently. Digital Dubai and DEWA are both partners in the integration.

Dr Moza Suwaidan of Digital Dubai said the measure of digital transformation was practical: “fewer steps, greater time savings and a smoother overall experience.”
