Etihad Guest has signed a new partnership with Maldivian, the Maldives’ national airline, giving loyalty programme members the ability to redeem Etihad Guest Miles on domestic flights across the Maldivian network.
The agreement, signed at Arabian Travel Market 2026, builds on an existing interline arrangement between the two carriers struck in 2024, which already allows guests to book single-ticket connections to 17 airports across the Maldives beyond Malé. The new deal extends that reach to miles redemption, giving Etihad Guest members a second way to draw on the relationship when planning travel into the archipelago.
“Our new partnership with Maldivian will give members another way to put their Etihad Guest Miles to work, with access to destinations across the Maldives that would otherwise mean a separate booking. The partnership will offer greater convenience and gives Etihad Guest members more choice in how and where they redeem their miles,” Mark Potter, Managing Director Etihad Guest at Etihad Airways said in a statement.
“This partnership will bring Etihad’s reach into the Maldives together with our own domestic network, the largest in the country. Etihad Guest members arriving into Malé will be able to use miles they have already earned to travel on with us, to islands and atolls right across the Maldives. It will make the country more accessible to travellers, and bring them closer to the islands and the hospitality the Maldives is known for,” Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Maldivian added.
For Etihad passengers connecting through Abu Dhabi, the arrangement effectively makes the outer islands reachable on a single points currency, removing the need for a separate domestic booking in-country.
