A Dubai Police electric scooter patrol arrested three theft suspects and recovered AED 190,000 in full within four minutes of the incident being reported, the force said.
The operation began when the Command-and-Control Centre at the General Department of Operations received a theft report falling under the jurisdiction of Naif Police Station.
Suspect descriptions were immediately circulated to patrols in the area. A scooter unit reached the scene within two minutes and, after fanning out across the surrounding streets, arrested all three individuals within a further two minutes. The stolen cash was found on them.
Expert Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour, Director of Naif Police Station, said the outcome reflected the readiness of Dubai Police field teams and the efficiency of its response system. He added that the station places particular focus on monitoring patrol deployment to ensure fast response times across busy areas and high-density markets.
Ashour described the electric scooter patrol programme as an effective operational solution for areas with heavy pedestrian traffic and narrow streets, where conventional vehicles are slower to manoeuvre. The format gives officers greater mobility through markets and alleys that would otherwise slow a standard patrol car.
He said the station would continue developing its field operations to improve response times further.
