Qatar Airways resumes daily flights to Dubai, Sharjah, and Damascus

Qatar Airways announced the resumption of daily flights from Doha to Dubai and Sharjah starting April 23, 2026, with daily service to Damascus beginning May 1.

The airline said it plans to expand its schedule to more than 150 destinations across six continents from June 16.

Passengers with bookings between February 28 and September 15, 2026, are eligible for complimentary date changes, additional fee-free rebooking for affected flights, or full refunds.

Iran says it has received first toll revenues from ships transiting Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s deputy parliamentary speaker Hamid Reza Haji Babaei said Iran has received its first revenue from tolls charged on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with fees deposited into the central bank, according to Tasnim news agency. The amount was not disclosed.

Trump says Iran halted execution of eight women protesters at his request

President Donald Trump said Iran has agreed not to execute eight women protesters who were scheduled to be killed, following his personal request. He said four will be released immediately and four will be sentenced to one month in prison. Trump said he “very much appreciates that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request.”

Iran’s Pezeshkian says blockade and threats are obstacles to negotiations

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran “has welcomed dialogue and agreement and continues to do so,” but called the US blockade, breached commitments, and threats the “main obstacles to genuine negotiations.”

He accused Washington of hypocrisy, saying the world “sees your endless hypocritical rhetoric and contradiction between claims and actions.”
