Presley Gerber, son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, has died at the age of 27. Records filed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner state he passed away at a rehabilitation facility on Sunday. No cause of death was listed.
A representative for Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber told CBS: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
Gerber followed his mother and younger sister Kaia into modelling, making his runway debut for Italian label Moschino at 16. He went on to work with Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta. His father Rande co-founded the Casamigos tequila brand with George Clooney.
In recent years, Gerber had spoken openly about his mental health struggles. In a 2023 interview on the Studio 22 podcast, he said: “Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.”
This month’s American Vogue also featured his sister Kaia discussing his battles with addiction. “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” she said. “I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help.”
