Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation has filed an official protest letter with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) over Iranian attacks targeting the country’s airspace and facilities at Kuwait International Airport.
The authority said the attacks constitute a blatant violation of international civil aviation conventions, disrupting air traffic, forcing flight suspensions, causing substantial financial losses, and endangering passengers, airline staff, and airport personnel.
Kuwait called on ICAO to take necessary measures to protect airspace and civilian facilities and prevent the recurrence of such incidents in line with international standards, affirming that it reserves its full legal rights to take all necessary actions to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and aviation infrastructure.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence announced that armed forces monitored seven hostile drones in Kuwaiti airspace over the past 24 hours, successfully intercepting and destroying four, while three fell outside the threat area without posing any danger.
The ministry clarified that explosion sounds heard across parts of the country were the result of interception operations and explosives disposal teams carrying out their field tasks.

The Israel Defense Forces announced that Iran launched a long-range missile for the first time since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, with a range of approximately 4,000 km – capable of reaching London, Paris, or Berlin.
The IDF said it had previously revealed during Operation Rising Lion in June 2025 that Iran was developing missiles with such range, a claim Iran denied at the time.
The IDF warned that Iran has carried out attacks against 12 countries in the region and is developing capabilities that pose a far broader global threat.

Customers with confirmed bookings and travel dates between February 28 and April 30, 2026 are eligible for a refund or date change.
Refunds cover the unused value of tickets, with add-ons such as preferred seats refunded separately.

Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) has announced the extension of the country’s airspace closure to all incoming, outgoing, and transit flights for an additional 72 hours, effective from 12:00 pm local time on Sunday until 12:00 pm on Wednesday.
The authority described the move as a temporary precautionary measure based on continuous evaluations of the security situation and the evolving regional landscape, adding that it would be reviewed depending on further developments.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed solidarity and condolences to Qatar and Türkiye following the deaths of seven people in a helicopter crash in Qatar’s territorial waters caused by a technical malfunction during a routine mission.
