Qatar Airways has inaugurated a new twice-weekly route linking Doha with Bogotá and Caracas, marking the first time a Gulf carrier has served Venezuela and the first nonstop connection between the Middle East and either South American capital.
The service operates every Wednesday and Sunday on Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, following the routing Doha–Bogotá–Caracas on the outbound leg and returning direct from Caracas to Doha. Flight QR783 departs Doha at 07:35, arriving in Bogotá at 16:25. It then continues to Caracas, departing at 17:55 and arriving at 21:00. The return from Caracas departs at 23:30, arriving back in Doha at 20:35.
Bogotá and Caracas become the 16th and 17th Americas destinations on the Qatar Airways network. The airline first entered South America in 2010 with an inaugural flight to São Paulo.
Hamad International Airport is positioned as a transit hub for the route, with connections designed to reach Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea and the UAE.
Qatar Airways has also extended its codeshare arrangement with LATAM to include LATAM Airlines Colombia. Under the expanded partnership, Qatar Airways will place its code on LATAM-operated domestic Colombian flights serving Cartagena, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and a range of other cities, giving passengers from the Middle East and beyond broader onward reach into the country.
