The UAE Cybersecurity Council has blocked a wave of sophisticated, coordinated cyberattacks aimed at the country’s aviation, energy and education sectors, the UAE Cybersecurity Council announced on Monday.
The council said national cybersecurity systems detected the attacks and responded immediately, containing the attempted breaches before the attackers could reach their objectives. No disruption to critical systems or essential services occurred as a result.
The attacks were described as organised and advanced, directed at sectors whose uninterrupted operation is central to the country’s infrastructure. The council said dedicated monitoring and response teams had identified and neutralised the threats through the UAE’s existing detection frameworks.
The council stressed the need for continued vigilance as digital threats grow more sophisticated, and called for reinforced protection of critical infrastructure and government systems.
No attribution for the attacks was provided, and the council did not specify the number of incidents or the time period over which they occurred.
