Jameel Motors UAE has been appointed exclusive distributor of KYC light commercial vehicles in the United Arab Emirates, following a distribution agreement signed with Chongqing Changan Kuayue Commercial Vehicle (KYC), a Chongqing-based light commercial vehicle manufacturer.

The deal adds KYC to a UAE portfolio that already includes Farizon Auto, part of the Geely Group. The initial lineup covers four models: the KYC V5 compact cargo van, the KYC V7 cargo van, the KYC T3 Plus mini truck in single and double cabin variants, and the KYC S5 light truck, also available in both configurations. Vehicles are expected to arrive in the UAE from the first half of 2027.

The agreement targets a commercial vehicle segment shaped by growth in last-mile delivery, logistics, construction, trading and SME activity.

The UAE commercial vehicles market is estimated to grow from USD 2.82 billion in 2026 to USD 4.05 billion by 2031, at a compound annual growth rate of 7.51 per cent, according to figures cited by Jameel Motors.

“Businesses in the UAE need vehicles that combine superior quality, practicality, reliability and cost-efficiency. KYC’s vans and light trucks are built to meet these everyday demands. Combined with Jameel Motors’ deep market knowledge and dependable sales, aftersales and parts support, this collaboration will give fleet operators, SMEs and contractors greater choice and confidence, while supporting the businesses that keep the UAE economy running,” Yousef Hussein, Chief Commercial Officer International Markets and Chief Executive Officer Middle East & Levant, Jameel Motors said in a statement.

Founded in 1999, KYC operates two production bases in Chongqing spanning nearly 670,000 square metres, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles. The company employs more than 3,000 people and recorded group revenue exceeding USD 1 billion in 2025. It has held a consistent top-five position in China’s light commercial vehicle market.

Together, we look forward to establishing a strong long-term presence,” Qing Han, President of Chongqing Kuayue Group and General Manager of Chongqing Changan Kuayue Commercial Vehicle, KYC added.

Jameel Motors operates across more than 10 countries spanning the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia. The company said it intends to expand the KYC portfolio in the UAE over time in line with market demand.
