Reuters reported that Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is still recovering from significant facial and leg injuries sustained in the airstrike that killed his father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28, the first day of the war, citing three people close to his inner circle.
His wife, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law were also killed in the strike.
The 56-year-old has not appeared in any photo, video, or audio recording since his appointment on March 8.
He is reportedly participating in meetings with senior officials via audio conferencing and remains involved in decision-making on the war and negotiations with Washington.
One source said images of Khamenei could be released within one to two months.
A US intelligence source told Reuters that Khamenei is believed to have lost a leg, consistent with earlier comments from US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth who said the leader was “wounded and likely disfigured.”
Lebanon’s presidency announced that the US administration has agreed to mediate between Lebanon and Israel, following an initiative by President Joseph Aoun calling for a ceasefire and direct negotiations. A phone call took place at 9:00 p.m.
Beirut time between Lebanese Ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Maacoud and Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, with US Ambassador to Beirut Michel Issa participating from Washington.

They affirmed that the UAE has overcome the crisis with strength, resilience, and determination, highlighting the effectiveness of state institutions and the unity of its society. The meeting also reviewed ongoing military and civilian efforts across the country.
The gathering was attended by senior members of the ruling families including the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and several deputy rulers, ministers, and officials.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense announced that air defenses detected and engaged seven drones over the past 24 hours.
Spokesman Colonel Saud Al-Atwan confirmed that the hostile targets were intercepted within operational zones.
He said Iranian attacks struck National Guard facilities, injuring some personnel whose conditions are stable, while causing major material damage.
The army bomb disposal squad responded to 14 reports during the same period.
