Gold prices rose on Monday to their highest point in more than three months, driven by a US Treasury announcement on bond buybacks.
Spot gold gained 0.4% to $4,668.19 per ounce, reaching a level not seen since 14 May earlier in the session. US gold futures rose 0.6% to $4,724.50.
Other precious metals followed the move higher. Silver advanced 0.3% to $69.16 per ounce, platinum gained 0.4% to $1,883.93, and palladium edged up 0.2% to $1,359.00.
