Belgium and Egypt have secured their places in the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, both finishing Group 7 with five points after the final round of matches played simultaneously on Tuesday.
Belgium dispatched New Zealand 5–1 at BC Place in Vancouver, a result that lifted them to the top of the group on goal difference. Egypt, meanwhile, drew 1–1 with Iran at Seattle’s stadium in the same time slot, enough to see them through in second place.
Iran exit the tournament in third with three points, while New Zealand finish bottom with one.
The 2026 World Cup is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
