The Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop collection – one of the most talked-about watch launches of 2026 – is now available through noon Minutes, the rapid delivery service operated by e-commerce platform Noon, with watches accessible exclusively to customers in Downtown Dubai via 15-minute delivery.
The partnership with noon Minutes comes as a direct response to the disorder that accompanied the collection’s global launch on May 16, 2026.
In Dubai, crowds were seen gathering outside the Swatch store at Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates as early as 6:45am, with the situation becoming difficult to manage for security personnel.
Watch enthusiats were reportedly attempting to break into Dubai Mall to secure a place in the queue, prompting authorities to intervene. The launch event was subsequently cancelled over public safety concerns, leaving many customers bitterly disappointed after hours of waiting.
What is the AP x Swatch Royal Pop?
The Royal Pop collection draws inspiration from Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak, launched in 1972, and the Swatch POP watches of the 1980s.
The eight Bioceramic models feature the Royal Oak’s distinctive octagonal bezel, exposed screws, and Petite Tapisserie textured dial. Rather than sitting on the wrist, the watches are designed to be worn on a calfskin lanyard, allowing them to be worn around the neck, in a pocket, attached to a handbag, or displayed on a removable stand.
The Lépine models, which feature the winding crown at 12 o’clock, retail at $400, while the Savonnette models – which add a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock – retail at $420. The collection launched in eight colour variants: Huit Blanc, Ocho Negro, Blaue Acht, Lan Ba, Green Eight, Otto Rosso, Orenji Hachi, and Otg Roz
The noon Minutes drop: How it works
The noon Minutes listing instructs customers to set their location pin to Burj Khalifa to access the drop, limiting purchases to those within the Downtown Dubai delivery zone.
The service promises delivery within 15 minutes, offering an alternative to the physical store queues that proved unmanageable at launch. The drop is described as limited, meaning availability is not guaranteed.
A global launch that descended into chaos
Dubai was not alone in its difficulties. In India, the launches in Mumbai and Delhi were cancelled at Palladium Mall and DLF Avenue respectively, again due to the scale of the crowds and security concerns.
In the United Kingdom, Swatch temporarily shut stores in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Sheffield, and Glasgow. In Malaysia, at least one Royal Pop hopeful suffered a broken hand in the rush.
