Majid Al Futtaim has opened its first premium Carrefour Market at Jumeirah Park Centre in Dubai, introducing a store concept the company says will serve as the blueprint for its next-generation supermarket format across the country.
The store spans more than 2,200 square metres and is built around a food-first layout that expands fresh and ready-made food from 25 per cent to 38 per cent of the total selling area. A new BakeHouse Café sits at the centre of the concept, offering freshly baked goods, specialty coffee and casual dining as a permanent feature of the store rather than a standalone addition.
The Jumeirah Park location also carries more than 900 new products, including over 300 imported lines, dedicated K-Beauty bays within a redesigned health and beauty section, an expanded pet care range, and a Food-for-Now deli counter. The store was designed with the surrounding residential community in mind.
The ribbon-cutting was attended by Ahmed Galal Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, and Dries D’Hooghe, Managing Director of Retail UAE at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, alongside Fareed Abdelrahman and Matthew Smith from Dubai Holding Asset Management, which operates Jumeirah Park Centre.
Majid Al Futtaim holds exclusive rights to operate Carrefour in the UAE. The company said the premium Market concept forms part of its broader 2026 growth strategy for the brand, which includes store modernisation, network expansion, and customer experience investment across both Market and hypermarket formats. Additional locations are expected to follow the Jumeirah Park model before the end of the year.
