Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said the UAE “entered the recent crisis united” and “emerged from it even more united, cohesive, and loyal,” praising citizens and residents, the military and civilians, and government and economic sectors for standing together “under the banner of the state.”
He called the UAE flag “a symbol of strength and pride” and urged all citizens and residents to “raise it above homes, institutions, and buildings.”
Sheikh Mohammed expressed pride in “our country’s president,” the armed forces, the economy, work teams, and all who live on UAE soil.
He called on the nation to raise the flag “as a sign of our love and a symbol of our loyalty.”
UAE Presidential Advisor Anwar Gargash said that “followers should not be surprised” by the UAE’s positions in confronting Iranian aggression, noting that the foreign ministry’s ceasefire statement “received significant popular appreciation.”
He described the aggression as “treacherous and premeditated” and declared that “the era of courtesies has passed, and frankness has become a necessity.”
Gargash called for a collective stance that is “firm and clear toward the features of the upcoming phase, in a way that enhances stability and security in the region.”
Gold prices were largely unchanged on Thursday as investors remained cautious amid uncertainty over the direction of US-Iran ceasefire negotiations, with a key US inflation report also expected later in the day.
Spot gold held at $4,713.79 per ounce, while US gold futures for June dipped 0.8 per cent to $4,736.50. Silver, platinum, and palladium all edged lower, falling between 0.4 per cent and 0.6 per cent.
Lebanon’s General Directorate of Civil Defence reported that Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas across the country, particularly Beirut, have killed 254 people and injured 1,165.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed the need for Iran to fully commit to immediately ceasing all hostilities, unconditionally reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and ending threats to freedom of navigation, international trade, energy security, and the global economy.
He thanked the ministers for their countries’ solidarity with the UAE and affirmed the safety of all residents and visitors in the country. The calls also emphasized the importance of coordinated international efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability across the region.
The UAE said it is closely monitoring the two-week ceasefire announced by President Trump between the US and Iran, and is seeking further details on the agreement’s terms to ensure Iran fully commits to an immediate halt of all hostilities and the unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Iran’s unprovoked attacks over the past 40 days, which included 2,819 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones targeting infrastructure, energy facilities, and civilian sites, along with the resulting casualties and damage, require a firm response, including holding Iran fully accountable for reparations.
The Ministry called for a comprehensive approach addressing the full spectrum of Iranian threats, encompassing its nuclear program, ballistic missiles, drones, military capabilities, proxy groups, and threats to freedom of navigation and economic stability in the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE reiterated that it is not a party to the conflict and had pursued extensive diplomatic efforts to prevent the war through bilateral channels and GCC initiatives.
It affirmed that it has firmly defended its sovereignty and national achievements, and called for Iran’s full compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817, adopted on March 11, 2026, which condemned the Iranian attacks and demanded their immediate cessation.
