Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties, has acknowledged that Dubai’s property market may experience a brief slowdown following Iranian missile strikes on the UAE, but expressed confidence that the market would recover quickly. Speaking to CNBC, he noted that while “there could be a bit of a cooldown,” he said “I really don’t see it,” attributing this to the fact that “bank borrowing is really restricted in this market.” He added that “consumer confidence will be shaken a little bit, but the policies of this country bring the confidence back so fast.”
Alabbar said he was initially shocked by the strikes, which affected Dubai’s airport, hotels, and ports, but pointed to signs of a swift return to normalcy. Footfall at Dubai Mall had recovered to 190,000 daily visitors compared to a pre-conflict figure of 250,000, with restaurant activity running at “about 80, 85%” of normal levels within just four to five days. “Life is coming back to normality,” he said.
On the commitment of investors, Alabbar said: “People with true capital understand that a country like this, with stable leadership and the safety it has shown, can deliver. They will double down on this.”
On why Iran targeted the UAE, Alabbar described the country as “the global business hub,” saying that “people who have no respect for progress, no respect for good quality of life, they probably feel that this is one of their targets. But thank God, that won’t happen.”

Trump expressed optimism about Iran’s future prospects, coining the phrase “Make Iran Great Again,” via a post on Truth Social.
