Emirates has expanded its inflight entertainment system, ice, with the launch of Dubai+ as a dedicated onboard channel, a new opera and classical performance collection, and a fresh wave of movies and box sets available from October.
Dubai+ is a homegrown streaming platform offering Emirati drama, comedy, documentaries and original productions. On ice, it launches with 10 programmes, 35 episodes and more than 20 hours of content, including titles such as “Dara,” “Wadima w Halema” and “Dannoun.” Programming draws from Dubai+ Originals, Dubai TV and Sama Dubai, and the channel will expand with new titles over time. Dubai+ joins more than 20 entertainment brands already on the platform, including HBO Max, Paramount+, Disney+, BBC Earth and Spotify.
The airline has also introduced ice Opera House, a curated library of full-length opera, ballet and symphony performances. The launch collection includes “Carmen,” “Don Giovanni,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Swan Lake” and “Cinderella,” alongside orchestral works from Vivaldi and Bach and a John Williams tribute programme. Productions come from The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet and New York City Ballet, with selected operas available in subtitles across multiple languages.
On the film side, new Hollywood releases joining ice this month include “Disclosure Day,” “The Sheep Detectives” and “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War.”
A 4K and HD remastered classics collection brings “The Godfather” trilogy, “Citizen Kane,” “Lawrence of Arabia” and “The Lord of the Rings” back to the screen. Customers also gain access to 43 new box sets, adding to an existing library of 356. Titles include “Friends,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Bluey” and “Planet Earth.”
The broader ice library currently covers more than 3,000 movies, over 4,500 TV episodes and up to 6,500 channels of on-demand content in more than 40 languages. Live sport remains part of the offering, with Premier League, Formula 1, UEFA Champions League, US Open and DP World Tour coverage available across much of the fleet.
On the hardware side, Emirates now has Starlink high-speed wi-fi fitted across 55 aircraft, and is rolling out Bowers and Wilkins noise-cancelling First Class headphones, expected to be available on most of the fleet by the end of 2026. The next-generation ice system includes 4K HDR displays, spatial audio, an eye comfort mode and ice Moments, a short-form video discovery format.
Ice won the 2026 APEX Best Global Entertainment Award and the Skytrax World’s Best Inflight Entertainment title for the 19th time this year.
