Kuwait extinguishes fire after drone hits residential complex

Kuwait’s Public Fire Force said firefighting teams contained a fire at a residential complex in the capital after it was struck by an enemy drone at dawn on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammed Badar Ibrahim said teams from the Al Helali and Al Madeenah centres responded immediately and brought the fire under control, with no injuries reported and damage limited to property.

CENTCOM completes new strikes on IRGC targets

US Central Command said it completed a wave of strikes against Iranian military targets on September 1, hitting IRGC air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine-laying capabilities, and communications sites.

CENTCOM said the strikes followed recent attempted IRGC attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and on American service members.

It noted that more than 50,000 US service members remain deployed across the Middle East, staying vigilant, lethal, and ready to carry out operations as directed by the Commander in Chief.

Iran: US strike on wedding in Kuhestak kills, wounds 50

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said a residential home in Kuhestak, Sirik, was struck overnight while families celebrated a wedding, leaving more than 50 people killed or wounded.

He linked the strike to a broader pattern of what he called US atrocities in Minab, Lamerd, Qeshm and elsewhere, including strikes on military targets he said were carried out under deceptive justifications.

He warned that normalising bombing is more dangerous than the bombing itself, and that converting silence into legitimacy is more dangerous than silence alone. Baqaei said Iran will respond firmly to what he called these savage crimes, and cautioned that governments and international institutions staying silent or seeking to justify such acts are not being neutral, warning that whitewashing unlawful attacks for political convenience erases the line between condemning a crime and normalising it.

He added that those silent today will not be spared the consequences tomorrow, since turning a blind eye to injustice only emboldens perpetrators.

Bahrain says it intercepted new Iranian strikes on Wednesday

Bahrain’s Defence Force said Iran is continuing a systematic pattern of hostility through attacks targeting civilians in the kingdom.

It said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed a number of Iranian strikes on Wednesday, September 2, and affirmed that all its forces remain at the highest level of readiness to defend the country.

The Defence Force urged the public to remain cautious and avoid approaching any strange or suspicious debris from the attack, reporting it immediately, and said the Royal Field Engineering Unit is fully ready to safely handle such material to ensure public safety.

It reiterated that deliberately using rockets and drones to target civilians is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, and expressed pride in its forces’ readiness and vigilance in performing their national duty.

Kuwait air defences engaging new missile, drone threats

Kuwait’s General Staff of the Armed Forces said its air defences are actively engaging missile and drone threats amid the ongoing Iranian aggression.

It said any explosion sounds heard are the result of ongoing interception operations, and urged the public to remain calm and follow safety and security instructions issued by relevant authorities.

US embassy issues security alert for Americans in UAE amid regional tensions

The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai issued a security alert citing ongoing Middle East tensions and the potential for unforeseen escalation. It warned Americans in the region to remain vigilant and prepared for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions, advising them to check flight status directly with airlines or via the Abu Dhabi and Dubai airport websites.

The alert noted that US diplomatic facilities, including those outside the Middle East, have been targeted, and warned that Iran and its supporters may target other US interests, businesses, and institutions worldwide. It said consular assistance remains available through the US Citizen Services Navigator, though only limited non-immigrant visa appointments are being offered and immigrant visa services remain suspended.

Americans were urged to enroll in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, review the UAE travel advisory, and take precautions in case of an aerial attack, including staying away from windows and monitoring official channels for guidance. The alert also advised keeping phones charged with emergency numbers saved, avoiding demonstrations and heavy police presence, staying alert near US-associated locations, and maintaining a low profile. Emergency contacts include UAE’s 999 line, the embassy and consulate’s emergency numbers, and the State Department’s Consular Affairs Call Center.
