Gold prices edged higher in early Asian trading on Wednesday as US Treasury yields retreated from recent highs, with traders watching for the release of the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting minutes.
Spot gold gained 0.2% to $4,342.33 per ounce, clawing back some ground after falling close to 2% in the previous session. December US gold futures moved in the opposite direction, slipping 0.6% to $4,396.30.
Among other precious metals, silver fell 0.5% to $62.99 per ounce in spot trade. Platinum rose 0.3% to $1,717.03, while palladium declined 0.3% to $1,286.73.
