Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce has announced the recall of 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles following the discovery of a defect in the driver’s-side airbag inflator that could expel sharp metal fragments during a collision, with the potential to cause serious injury or death.
The recall covers Trax models from 2010 to 2017, Cruze models from 2012 to 2018, and Aveo models from 2010 to 2017.
Owners of affected vehicles are asked to contact one of three authorised parties to arrange free repairs: General Motors on 8008200048, Aljomaih Automotive on 8007525252, or Universal Motors Agencies on 8002442244.
Owners can check whether their vehicle identification number falls within the recall by visiting the Defective Products Recall Center website.
