The UAE has strongly condemned what it described as a hostile Iranian attack on two ADNOC-affiliated vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with no injuries reported.
In a formal statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE said the attack constituted a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which affirms freedom of navigation and prohibits the targeting of commercial vessels or the obstruction of international maritime routes.
The ministry attributed the strike directly to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, characterising it as an act of piracy and a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security.
The statement accused Iran of using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of economic coercion and called on Tehran to halt what it described as unprovoked attacks. The UAE also demanded Iran commit to an immediate cessation of all hostilities and the complete and unconditional reopening of the strait.
