More than 1,500 people gathered at Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island for Run for Impact: Saving the Arabian Sand Cat, a community event organised by Miral alongside the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Al Ain Zoo, EllisDon, and ZUBLIN Construction LLC.

Funds raised at the event will go directly toward research and conservation initiatives for the Arabian Sand Cat, a small wild feline native to the UAE’s desert ecosystems.

The run forms part of Miral’s IMPACT by Miral platform, which frames conservation as a pillar of the company’s broader social and environmental commitments.

“We are proud to see our community come together for Run for Impact, embracing healthier lifestyles and contributing to the protection of the UAE’s wildlife. By connecting wellbeing with conservation, the event brings our vision for IMPACT by Miral to life, uniting our community and partners to create positive social and environmental change. I thank everyone who took part for their dedication,” Taghrid Alsaeed, Executive Director of Marketing, Communications & Events at Miral and Vice Chair of Miral Impact Fund said in a statement.

Participants could choose between 3km, 5km, and 10km distances, with the format designed to accommodate a range of ages and fitness levels. Al Ain Zoo ran a side programme of family activities including Sand Cat-themed face painting, photo opportunities, and trivia challenges with prizes. The event closed with an awards ceremony recognising the top finishers in each category.
