The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast unstable weather conditions on Friday, December 19, 2026, with conditions expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times across the UAE.
Convective clouds will form over scattered areas of the country, the NCM said. These clouds will bring rainfall of varying intensity to different parts of the nation.
“The rainfall may be accompanied by lightning, thunder and hail over limited areas,” according to the NCM forecast. The weather system will bring a drop in temperatures across the country, the NCM stated.

Winds will be southeasterly, shifting to northwesterly during the day. The NCM said winds will be moderate to fresh and occasionally strong, particularly with convective clouds.
The winds will cause blowing dust and sand, leading to reduced horizontal visibility in affected areas. Wind speeds will range from 20 to 40 km/h, reaching up to 60 km/h, the NCM reported.
The Arabian Gulf will experience rough to very rough conditions at times, according to the NCM. The Sea of Oman will be rough, particularly with convective cloud activity, the centre added.
