Ibn Battuta Mall is hosting walk and run sessions each morning from 6 AM to 10 AM as part of the Dubai Mallathon, a citywide fitness initiative launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
The programme, running under the “Move In Style” campaign banner across seven Dubai malls, runs from 15 June to 15 September 2026.
The mall’s six themed courts, each inspired by a destination from Ibn Battuta’s travels, form the course. Distance markers, dedicated lanes for runners and walkers, and water refill stations every 500 metres are in place throughout.
The initiative’s flagship event at the mall falls on Saturday, August 30. It features a structured, lap-based race across three distances with competitive timing and gold, silver, and bronze medals for category winners.
From 8:30 AM, the event opens to a general community walk and run. All finishers receive a medal, event T-shirt, and digital certificate. Retail perks are part of the offering too: participating runners can collect goodies from stores along the course, with Al Jaber offering free eye tests on select dates and the first 50 finishers on August 30 receiving a 300 AED NOOR gift voucher.
Registration is open to residents and visitors of all fitness levels, with wristbands available at the mall’s daily registration desk.
The Mallathon is the latest in a run of activations at Ibn Battuta this year, which have included a manga-inspired entertainment venue, a gaming event, and a steps challenge tied to the FITZE app.
