Jacob & Co has unveiled the Shri Ramchandra, a new limited edition timepiece that continues the brand’s exploration of Hindu devotional iconography in haute horlogerie. Limited to three pieces worldwide, it follows the Ram Janmabhoomi and is built on the Astronomia Solar platform.

The watch places figurines of Lord Ram at six o’clock and Lord Hanuman at nine, with an interpretation of the Ayodhya Ram Temple completing the tableau.

At the centre of the display sits a Jacob-cut orange cubic zirconia representing the sun, mounted on a blue neoralithe base etched with a mandala pattern. A blue lacquered Earth globe rotates on its own axis once per minute, functioning as a running seconds indicator, while a one-minute flying tourbillon cage at twelve o’clock mirrors its motion. Hours and minutes are read via 5N rose gold hands on an off-centred dial in orange fire opal.

The 45.5mm case is 18-karat rose gold, with a single-piece sapphire crystal band running the full circumference and a domed sapphire crystal above. A blue alligator leather strap with a gold deployant clasp completes the exterior.

Inside, the manual-winding JCAM42 calibre comprises 295 components and delivers a 48-hour power reserve. The rose gold caseback carries a custom “Jai Shri Ram” plate and is wound and set via two crown bows.
