Emirates SkyCargo has introduced a dedicated freight product for AI infrastructure, targeting the growing demand to move high-value, time-sensitive hardware across global networks.

The product, called AI Tech, is designed for server racks, GPUs, semiconductors and capital equipment. It combines priority loading, standardised handling procedures and round-the-clock shipment monitoring through the carrier’s command centre in Dubai.

“Behind every AI breakthrough is physical infrastructure that needs to arrive safely and on time. AI Tech is designed to give customers confidence that their critical equipment will move seamlessly across our network, supported by operational oversight and proactive communication. In July alone, we transported more than 700 tonnes of AI infrastructure across our global network, and demand has continued to grow. As this sector expands, our ambition is to become the carrier of choice for companies operating across the AI ecosystem,” Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates SkyCargo said in a statement.

The product addresses a growing pain point in tech logistics. Large-scale AI deployments typically involve compressed timelines and hardware that can weigh more than 3.5 tonnes per server rack, with little tolerance for damage or delay.

AI Tech’s standardised procedures are intended to maintain equipment orientation throughout transit and flag issues before they affect delivery schedules.

The service is available across Emirates SkyCargo’s global network for most AI-related cargo. For highly specialised manufacturing equipment, the carrier conducts station capability assessments before accepting shipments.

By March 2027, Emirates SkyCargo plans to operate 23 dedicated freighters, adding maindeck capacity suited to the oversized, dense loads common in AI hardware deployments. The carrier also draws on bellyhold capacity across its wide-body passenger fleet.
