Emirates is marking Diwali with onboard sweets and festive food across its Dubai–India network, with the celebrations running from 3 to 8 November.

On November 7 and 8, passengers flying between Dubai and nine Indian cities – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata and Mumbai – will receive traditional Indian sweets regardless of cabin class.

Premium Economy and Economy passengers get motichoor laddu, the golden chickpea flour sweet flavoured with cardamom and saffron. First and Business Class travellers also receive kaju pista roll, a cashew and pistachio confection wrapped in edible silver leaf.

In Emirates’ First and Business Class Lounges in Dubai, the Diwali menu runs from November 3 to 8. The First Class lounge offering includes vada pav with tamarind and mint chutneys, desserts such as malai sandwich, mango delight, malai roll and gajar ka halwa, and two special drinks – a Spicy Saffron Martini and an Iced Masala Cooler mocktail.

The Business Class lounge menu features vegetable keema samosa, onion kachori and paneer potli samosa, with sweets including balushahi, mango rajbhog and mini kesari rasgullas. Emirates’ lounges in Cape Town and Johannesburg will also serve traditional sweets including coconut ice, barfi and jalebi.

On the inflight entertainment side, the airline’s ice system will carry up to 157 Indian films across the period – Bollywood titles as well as regional films in nine languages – alongside 14 Indian TV programmes and 40 Indian albums and playlists.
