Key points

  • Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah has begun a large recruitment drive.
  • The resort is hiring for 101 roles, including casino positions, ahead of its 2027 opening.
  • The recruitment signals progress for regulated gaming in the UAE, a major regional shift.

Wynn Al Marjan Island, the integrated resort being developed in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) by Wynn Resorts and local partners, has launched a broad recruitment drive ahead of its planned 2027 opening, posting 101 positions across departments including casino operations, according to Arabian Business.

Among the advertised roles is “Casino Manager – Table Games Operations,” which Arabian Business said is the first listing of its kind in the Gulf Cooperation Council. The job specification calls for ensuring the integrity of games and enforcing regulatory compliance, as well as overseeing pit managers and gaming team members. It also requires accurate handling of the Card Track System, coordination with the card room, and collaboration with vendors to maintain supplies of playing cards and dice on the casino floor, the publication reported.

Candidates for the casino manager post are expected to have at least five years of experience in table games or casino operations and familiarity with card tracking systems, according to the report. Wynn Al Marjan is also recruiting a “Pit Manager – Table Games Operations” to supervise day-to-day activities and ensure table games adhere to regulatory standards; the pit manager will report to the assistant casino manager. Other listed roles span hospitality and entertainment, including executive chefs for Delilah and Steak House by Alain Ducasse, a director of floral operations, a director of nightlife operations, and an administrative assistant for the casino division, Arabian Business said.

Arabian Business also reported that Max Topainer, whom it described as a former chief executive of Wynn Las Vegas, will relocate to Ras Al Khaimah to serve as president of Wynn Al Marjan, leading a team drawn from Wynn properties worldwide. As many as 200 staff are expected to relocate to Marjan Island within six months of the resort’s launch, the outlet added.

Spanning 60 hectares on Marjan Island, the resort is set to include a collection of rooms, suites and villas, 24 restaurants, a luxury shopping parterre, 12 pools and a white-sand beach. Construction work is under way toward a 2027 debut, Arabian Business said.

The recruitment push underscores momentum behind plans to introduce regulated gaming in the United Arab Emirates, a significant shift in a region where gambling has not been legally available. In 2023, the UAE established the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority to develop a regulatory framework for a national lottery and commercial gaming. Ras Al Khaimah had earlier set up a local regulator to oversee integrated resorts. Wynn Resorts has said its RAK property will include a gaming area, subject to licensing and regulation.

If licensed, Wynn Al Marjan would bring casino-style gaming to the Gulf for the first time, positioning Ras Al Khaimah to tap high-end tourism as the UAE diversifies its leisure offerings. Wynn is developing the project alongside Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding. The resort’s hiring campaign, which now includes senior casino and hospitality roles, suggests further recruitment rounds are likely as the opening date approaches.
