ENOC Group has accumulated more than AED478 million in savings through its Energy and Resource Management programme since 2014, the company disclosed at WETEX 2026. The figures, spanning a decade of operational initiatives, also show a 21.7 percent improvement in energy efficiency and an 11.5 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity over the same period.
The group said investments exceeding AED156 million have helped avoid a cumulative 1.47 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. Renewable energy integration alone has generated more than AED75 million in savings since 2017, while the group’s waste recycling rate reached 65.24 percent in 2025.
Water management sits at the centre of ENOC’s current reporting. The group recycled 688,785 cubic metres of treated water across its operations last year, reaching a recycling rate of 24.45 percent. Water intensity stood at 0.0491 cubic metres per tonne of product, around 20.4 percent below 2014 levels.
The specifics point to how those numbers were achieved. ENOC’s Jebel Ali refinery redirected approximately 72,389 cubic metres of treated wastewater to irrigation and industrial users in 2025, producing an estimated AED812,000 in annual cost savings. The service station network’s auto car wash recycling systems recovered 527,043 cubic metres, at a recycling rate of 67.6 percent. Dubai Natural Gas Company Limited recycled or reused roughly 50,053 cubic metres of treated wastewater, achieving an 18.2 percent rate. Around 3,273 tonnes of slops were transferred to approved recycling or recovery contractors during the year.
At facility level, a water purification and softening system introduced at the Dubai Lubricants Processing Plant is expected to contribute approximately AED15,000 in annual savings.
Group CEO Hussain Sultan Lootah said water security and responsible resource management are “fundamental to the long-term resilience and competitiveness of the energy and industrial sectors,” and pointed to WETEX as a platform to share expertise aligned with the UAE’s broader sustainability targets. The UAE Water Security Strategy 2036 sets a 21 percent reduction in total water demand and a target of 95 percent reuse of treated water.
