Microsoft announced at GISEC Global 2026 that its Agent 365 platform will be available to customers through the UAE data centre starting October, as the company moves to address a widening governance gap in enterprise AI adoption.
Agent 365 is designed as a unified control plane for IT and security teams to manage AI agents, whether built by Microsoft, third-party developers, or organisations themselves.
As agents gain deeper access to enterprise data and systems, the platform offers a centralised registry, lifecycle management tools, audit trails, and security controls to maintain oversight as deployments grow.
The platform draws on three capability sets: observability, governance and security. A central agent registry allows organisations to discover and map all agents operating in their environment.
Governance tools cover onboarding, access policies and lifecycle management. Security capabilities extend Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender protections to agents, covering identity, data access, sensitive information handling and threat detection.
“As AI agents move from pilots into everyday business operations, the real test is whether organizations can scale them with the right governance, security and accountability in place. In the UAE, adoption is moving quickly but readiness is not yet keeping pace. Frontier organizations will be those that can bring people and AI agents together across their operations with trust built in from the start. Making Agent 365 available in the UAE is one step towards closing that gap, giving organizations the foundation to scale agentic AI responsibly, securely and with confidence,” Amr Kamel, General Manager, Microsoft UAE said in a statement.
The announcement positions Agent 365 as infrastructure rather than a product add-on, reflecting a broader industry shift toward treating AI agent governance as a foundational enterprise concern rather than an afterthought.
