Hot Wheels has launched “Challenge Accepted,” a global brand campaign built around what the company calls the challenger spirit: the willingness to take risks, push past expectations and pursue a passion regardless of the odds.
At the centre of the campaign is the inaugural Hot Wheels Class of Legends, three figures the brand has chosen to represent that ethos: Colombian music artist Maluma, automotive content creator and entrepreneur Supercar Blondie, and footballer Robert Lewandowski.
Each has co-designed a die-cast car for the 2026 Global Legends Collection, a 1:64-scale set the company describes as the first of its kind. Maluma contributed a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60, a nod to his Colombian upbringing and what Hot Wheels describes as his adventurous outlook. Supercar Blondie’s car is a Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4, nicknamed “Lucy,” which was her first supercar and is closely associated with her rise as a creator. Lewandowski’s entry is a ’97 Porsche 911 GT1, chosen to reflect the precision and competitive drive the striker has brought to professional football.
Throughout September, Hot Wheels will publish a three-part content series on its social channels called “Hot Wheels Challenge Accepted: Legends,” with episodes themed around Design Studio, Speed Round, and What Drives Me. Each episode features one of the three Legends discussing their relationship with car culture and the challenges that shaped their careers.
On the philanthropic side, Hot Wheels is donating $100,000 to El Arte de los Sueños, a Colombian organisation co-founded by Maluma and his sister that uses the arts to support vulnerable youth. The funds will go toward programmes in singing, music production, dance and composition, as well as psychological support for teenagers.
The campaign also extends into parenting and education through a partnership with clinical psychologist Dr. Becky Kennedy. A special run of episodes will join her podcast, “Good Inside with Dr. Becky,” debuting in September, with guests discussing how early play shaped their approach to challenge. Specific guests and episode dates have not yet been announced.
