The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has issued a circular giving UAE federal government employees flexible working arrangements at the start of the new academic year, allowing them to escort their children to and from school or home on the first day of term.
The flexibility window is capped at three hours and applies to arrival and departure times rather than a reduction in total working hours.
Employees with children starting kindergarten receive an additional accommodation: flexible working arrangements throughout the first week of school, also limited to a maximum of three hours per week.
