Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey has revealed its complete cast, anchored by Matt Damon as Odysseus and featuring one of the more densely star-studded lineups in recent memory.
Tom Holland plays Telemachus, Odysseus’ son. Anne Hathaway takes the role of Penelope, Odysseus’ wife and queen of Ithaca. Robert Pattinson plays Antinous, one of the suitors pursuing Penelope in Odysseus’ absence.
Zendaya is cast as the goddess Athena, with Charlize Theron as the immortal nymph Calypso and Lupita Nyong’o in a dual role as both Helen of Troy and her twin sister Clytemnestra.
The supporting cast extends further: Samantha Morton plays the witch Circe, Jon Bernthal is Menelaus, Benny Safdie plays Agamemnon, Corey Hawkins is Ithacan suitor Polybus, Himesh Patel is Eurylochus, and Mia Goth appears as Penelope’s servant Melantho.
Bill Irwin plays the Cyclops, while Elliot Page is Sinon, a Greek warrior. John Leguizamo rounds out the named cast as Eumaeus, Odysseus’ loyal servant.
Nolan produces alongside his long-standing collaborator Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner. The crew carries over much of the team behind Oppenheimer: cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, editor Jennifer Lame, composer Ludwig Göransson, and visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson all return.
Nolan’s films have collectively taken more than $6 billion at the global box office and earned 18 Academy Awards from 49 nominations. Oppenheimer alone grossed close to $1 billion worldwide and won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
The Odyssey is scheduled to arrive in cinemas regionally on July 17, 2026.
