The United States and Australia have both qualified for the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following the conclusion of Group 4’s final matchday.
The US, who had secured their place in the knockout rounds after winning their opening two games, finished top of Group 4 on six points despite a 3-2 defeat to Turkey in their final group match. They will face Bosnia and Herzegovina, who finished third in Group 2, in the round of 32 on 1 July.
Australia advanced as group runners-up after drawing 0-0 with Paraguay, taking their tally to four points. Paraguay also finished on four points in third place, separated from Australia on goal difference, and now wait to learn whether they progress as one of the best third-placed sides across the tournament.
Australia’s round of 32 opponents will come from Group 7, whose final standings are to be settled on Saturday when Egypt face Iran and Belgium take on New Zealand.
