The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has confirmed there are no Ebola cases in the country, following reports linking a recent visitor to the virus.
The ministry said the individual in question had been travelling in the UAE before the infection was identified. The positive diagnosis was announced only after the traveller departed the country and arrived in Uganda, several days later. No UAE health facility recorded a visit from the individual during their time in the country.
Authorities said they had already activated standard response protocols once the case came to light, including risk assessments, contact tracing, and precautionary measures aligned with national procedures and international health standards. No secondary cases were recorded.
The UAE is coordinating closely with the World Health Organization and relevant international health bodies to monitor the situation, the ministry said, adding that the country maintains advanced levels of health readiness and surveillance.
The ministry also urged the public to avoid circulating unverified reports and to rely only on official sources for health information.
