Sharjah City Municipality has opened Al Khan Park in the Al Khan district, timing the launch to coincide with Eid Al Adha. The municipality said the park was completed in under one month, with work beginning on 30 April.
The site covers 5,000 square metres and includes a football pitch, a children’s play area, seating zones, internal walkways, and lighting. Green lawns cover 3,000 square metres of the total area, planted alongside flowers, trees, and shrubs.
The municipality said it mobilised engineering teams, equipment, and labour to meet the deadline, covering landscaping, irrigation network installation, and the fit-out of service facilities.
Sharjah Municipality framed the opening as part of a broader push to expand green spaces across the emirate’s residential neighbourhoods, in line with directions from Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to develop and maintain parks across the city.
