Sharjah has opened a beachfront resort offering freehold ownership to all nationalities in Khorfakkan, in a move aimed at drawing overseas real estate investment to the emirate’s east coast.
Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated Khorfakkan Resort on Thursday, developed by Asas Real Estate, the property arm of Sharjah Islamic Bank, at a cost of AED700 million.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. Upon arrival, Sheikh Sultan unveiled the resort’s commemorative plaque before touring the facilities across the site.

The resort extends across a land area of approximately 330,000 square feet, with a built-up area of 1.4 million square feet. The structure comprises a ground floor, two parking levels, and nine residential floors.
The resort contains 573 residential units, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom apartments with a living room. It also features 16 retail outlets, creating an environment that brings together residential living with commercial services under one development.
Positioned directly on Khorfakkan beach, the resort sits in proximity to the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre and Waterfall. It overlooks four panoramic fronts – the sea, the beach, the city, and the mountains – offering residents and visitors a setting that brings together nature with modern facilities.
The resort’s facilities include a gymnasium, outdoor swimming pools, a recreational sports area for children, and a private beach. It also features elevated green spaces covering 100,000 square feet, alongside integrated hotel services for residents and visitors.
The development is expected to contribute to tourism and economic activity in Khorfakkan by providing what its developers describe as “an integrated destination that combines luxury accommodation and recreational services.”
The project forms part of Sharjah’s plans for sustainable development and signals the emirate’s intent to grow its footprint on the east coast as a destination for residents and visitors alike.
