Sharjah Municipality has extended paid parking hours across the emirate to midnight, with the new unified schedule taking effect from 1 July. The change applies to all fee-bearing car parks in Sharjah city, Kalba, Khor Fakkan, and Al Dhaid, including yellow-sign zones, which will now operate on the same timetable as blue-sign zones.

Fees run from 8am to midnight daily. Parking remains free on Fridays and public holidays, with the exception of zones designated as chargeable throughout the week and on official holidays.

The municipality said around 124,000 public parking spaces fall under the paid scheme. It added that the extended hours will not result in any increase in subscription fees. Holders of seasonal passes will instead gain two extra free hours per day: their daily exemption period rises from 14 hours to 16.

Residents can pay parking fees by SMS, through the Sharjah Digital app, or by taking out a seasonal subscription, which the municipality said can be issued quickly on demand.
