Iran’s Gulf attacks show it can’t commit to de-escalation: Gargash
UAE Presidential Adviser Anwar Gargash said Iran’s strikes on Qatari and Saudi tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, along with repeated aggression against Bahrain and Kuwait, clearly show Tehran is still unable to uphold the requirements of de-escalation or move past the state of war.
He argued that Gulf Arab states cannot keep being caught in the middle of Iran’s oscillation between escalation and a path toward rationality, stability, and peace.

Kuwait air defenses intercept missile and drone attack amid Iran-US escalation
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense says its air defenses responded to hostile missile and drone attacks.
The military’s General Staff confirmed that explosion sounds being heard are from air-defense systems intercepting the incoming threats, not the attacks themselves landing. Authorities are urging everyone to follow official safety and security guidance.
This comes right on the heels of the U.S. strikes on Iran over the Hormuz tanker attacks.

CENTCOM says it hit over 80 Iranian targets in retaliatory strikes
U.S. Central Command says it has finished a fresh round of offensive strikes on Iran, hitting more than 80 targets with precision-guided weapons on July 7 as an immediate reaction to Iran’s latest attacks on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
American forces targeted Iranian air defenses, command and control networks, coastal radar installations, anti-ship missile sites, and over 60 IRGC small boats in and around the strait, aiming to weaken Iran’s capacity to keep disrupting international shipping through the corridor.
CENTCOM identifies the three vessels Iran recently attacked as the Marshall Islands-flagged Al Rekayyat, the Saudi-flagged Wedyan, and the Liberian-flagged Cyprus Prosperity, calling the attacks an unprovoked and dangerous breach of the ceasefire that threatens freedom of navigation.
The statement adds that U.S. forces remain positioned and ready to hold Iran accountable for any further violations of the agreement.

US launches large-scale strikes on Iran after Hormuz tanker attacks
CENTCOM says U.S. forces have started a major wave of strikes on Iran, aiming to punish Tehran for targeting civilian-crewed commercial ships in an international waterway.
The action follows Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which CENTCOM calls unprovoked, reckless, and a clear breach of the ceasefire.
