Gold extended its winning streak to five consecutive sessions on Wednesday, with spot prices up 0.3 per cent at $4,341.12 per ounce as of 0230 GMT, holding close to the one-week high reached on Monday.
US gold futures for August delivery added 0.2 per cent to $4,361.10.
The broader precious metals complex moved in the same direction. Spot silver gained 0.3 per cent to $70.38 per ounce, platinum rose 0.5 per cent to $1,812.80, and palladium edged up 0.3 per cent to $1,355.65.
