Dubai International Airport is preparing for its busiest stretch of the year, with around 3 million travellers expected to pass through its terminals during the first half of July, the airport said.
Passenger volumes are set to climb sharply from 2 July as residents leave for summer holidays. The peak is forecast to fall on 12 July, when the airport expects to handle more than 225,000 guests in a single day. Daily traffic is projected to exceed 200,000 passengers repeatedly across the two-week window.
Transit travellers are expected to account for roughly 50% of total passenger numbers over the period, a share that reflects the airport’s role as one of the world’s most connected aviation hubs.
Dubai Airports has added a passenger experience activation to the peak season. Travellers departing or transiting through Concourse B in Terminal 3, near gates B28, can take part in an interactive installation called “Dubai in the Heart.” Participants upload a selfie, which is added to a growing digital mosaic in the colours of the UAE flag. A dedicated space for handwritten messages is also available, and participants can access offers and gifts from shops across the airport.
The airport is advising Emirates passengers to check in from home, within the city, or at self-service kiosks, and to arrive no more than three hours before departure. Families with children over 12 are encouraged to use smart gates to speed through passport control. Travellers are also reminded to carry spare batteries and power banks in hand luggage only, and to confirm entry requirements for their destination before arriving at the airport.
