Google has unveiled a set of AI-powered study tools across its Search product and Gemini platform, targeting students with features including interactive diagrams, 3D simulations, personalised practice tests, and a dedicated learning hub.
The tools allow students to generate interactive experiences and simulations designed to help them work through complex topics. Practice quizzes cover science, mathematics, humanities, and foreign languages, and can be tailored to individual queries.
Google’s new search features also support follow-up questions, with the AI adjusting its responses based on what the student asks. The company says the approach is intended to make Gemini a more capable learning assistant rather than a general-purpose chatbot.
According to TechCrunch, Google also plans to roll out Google Lens integration in the coming weeks, which would let students photograph a problem or topic and receive concept explanations, error identification, and step-by-step guidance in return.
The announcements come as Google competes with OpenAI and a growing number of edtech startups for dominance in AI-assisted learning.
