Tata and OpenAI to train one million Indian youths in artificial intelligence

Under the terms of the partnership, OpenAI and TCS will develop Agentic AI solutions for specific industries. OpenAI will contribute its AI platforms while TCS will provide what both companies describe as contextual knowledge of industries and depth in AI skills.

TCS and OpenAI will jointly target enterprises in India and around the world, offering AI-powered solutions built around each organisation’s specific context. TCS will handle the deployment, integration, and scaling of OpenAI’s platforms for those clients.

TCS’s HyperVault unit and OpenAI have agreed a multi-year deal to develop AI infrastructure in India. In its first phase, TCS will build data centres with a capacity of 100 megawatts, with an option to scale to one gigawatt. HyperVault was established in 2025 to deliver large-scale AI-ready infrastructure powered by green energy, offering liquid-cooled data centres with high rack densities and connectivity across cloud regions.
