Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its services and customer experience through the ChatGPT Apps Directory.
The move introduces a new channel for government service delivery using artificial intelligence platforms, alongside existing websites and smart applications.
According to DEWA, it is the first government body and the first utility to provide services through an AI platform.
DEWA expands service access through AI platforms
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DEWA, said the launch forms part of the “AI Integration and Operating Services” initiative.
“The ‘AI Integration and Operating Services’ initiative is a pivotal step in our journey to reshape government services in the AI era, transitioning from traditional digital interaction models to a comprehensive service system integrated with global AI platforms,” he said in a statement, adding that the initiative allows access to DEWA’s services through conversational interfaces, including ChatGPT and multi-agent systems.
Through the ChatGPT platform, DEWA customers can access several services. These include bill enquiries, account details, billing support and account support.
More DEWA services planned for future phases
Users can also obtain information on electric vehicle Green Charger locations, directions to the nearest charging station, and details of Customer Happiness Centre locations, working hours and contact channels.
“Launching DEWA’s services through ChatGPT Apps Directory strengthens our role in adopting smart solutions and delivering services that enhance quality of life and provide a customer experience, while supporting Dubai’s position as a hub for AI and sustainable innovation,” he said.
DEWA said more services will be added in phases, in line with its governance, security and privacy framework.
