Counsellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said investigations into the 30 September incident revealed that the co-pilot attacked the captain inside the flight deck using a crash axe and attempted to take control of the aircraft.

Investigations are ongoing, Al Shamsi said, to establish the full circumstances and motives, identify any links related to the incident, and complete technical examinations of physical and digital evidence. Final results will be announced once all necessary procedures have concluded.
