The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has confirmed the holiday arrangements for the New Year celebration in 2026 for UAE federal government employees.
Thursday, January 1 2026, will be a holiday for the federal government.
The Authority made the announcement regarding the start of the calendar year.
Friday, January 2 2026, will be designated as a remote working day for federal government employees.
The arrangement applies to all employees except those whose duties require their presence at work locations.
“On this occasion, the Authority extended congratulations and best wishes to the leadership, government, and people of the UAE, as well as to all residents, praying for continued health and well-being,” the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported citing FAHR.
